Zero Waste Alliance Ireland is a member-based environmental NGO, our members constitute the primary policy-making body, along with a management board who supervise the activities of ZWAI. The board is elected by our members and takes place at our Annual General Meeting, any of our members are welcome to run for a board position. We also have regular member’s meeting where we discuss on-going issues of importance or interest.
In the past ZWAI operated with a small number of members, all of whom also served as directors of the organisation. In 2020 we decided to increase our membership, within the year we had more than doubled our membership! We are currently seeking new candidates to expand our network.
Our members help us:
To raise greater awareness of the concepts of zero waste and the circular economy (nationally and locally)
To assist communities interested in making the transition to zero waste
To influence Government policy
To engage more actively with other Irish NGOs which have similar aims and objectives
Our members are welcome to get involved in anything and everything that interests them (fundraising, education, PR, lobbying, objections etc).
If you are interested in becoming a member, please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.
