Zero Waste Alliance Ireland (ZWAI) advocates for a transformative approach to Ireland’s third SDG National Implementation Plan, emphasising zero waste principles, circular economy strategies and the integration of innovative solutions like hemp-based materials and nutrient recovery from wastewater. The submission highlights the potential of hemp to revolutionise construction, agriculture, energy sectors and proposes systemic reforms to reduce bureaucracy, improve governance and restrict non-circular imports. ZWAI also calls for a more plant-based dietary transition and advanced wastewater management to align the SDGs with clean water, responsible consumption and climate action.
